Back in 1966, a small group of car enthusiasts came together with a shared passion — to preserve and restore antique cars and trucks and to pass that love of the automobile on to others. They called themselves the Fremont Antique Car Club.

Those early meetings were simple: a handful of guys gathering once a month to talk about cars, swap stories, and lend each other a hand under the hood. There were no fancy titles or big events — just friendship, a few greasy wrenches, and a deep respect for the machines that shaped a generation.

As time rolled on, the automotive world — and our club — began to evolve. The rumble of antique engines was soon joined by classics, muscle cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and even a few military vehicles. In 2022, we embraced that growing diversity and proudly changed our name to the Fremont Area Car Club, welcoming all types of car lovers into our family.

Our Main Event

Every September, on the fourth Sunday of the month, Christensen Field comes alive with the sound of engines, the smell of grease and coffee, and the buzz of conversation as we host the Fremont Area Car Club Swap Meet.

What began decades ago as a small local gathering has grown into one of Nebraska’s oldest and largest one-day swap meets — drawing visitors from across the Midwest. Our members pour their hearts into making sure every vendor, buyer, and guest feels welcome. It’s more than just an event — it’s a celebration of our shared love for the automobile.

Giving Back

Our club has always believed that the road runs both ways. The Fremont community has supported us for nearly 60 years, and we’re proud to give back whenever we can.

From food and monetary donations to local causes, to scholarships for high school seniors pursuing automotive studies — we do our best to keep the spirit of service and craftsmanship alive.
